Sustaining civil society with archive

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

As the BBC approaches its Centenary, we must continue to contribute to and reflect the civic and cultural fabric of the United Kingdom. We believe our archive has the unique capability to help sustain and develop civic society, and we are exploring this through partnerships across the GLAM sector and beyond.

In this presentation, we will focus on specific projects we are currently undertaking in order to increase public access to our archives. This will include our work making content available in library branches across Northern Ireland and East Anglia; our nationwide VR tours; cultural partnerships with museums, galleries and artists; providing access at scale to schools and universities; and working with people with dementia and their carers.

We will also preview our plans for the BBC Centenary in 2022.
