When we digitize an audio recording, we follow the recommendations of audio preservation specialist bodies, employ well-trained technicians, try to use the best reproduction equipment, and generally have a whole series of graphic aids available to analyze the quality of the work we are doing. These tools are usually focused on the audio signal, which is obvious, but it may happen that something unexpected gets out of hand. By extending the fields and methods of measurement, we can in fact make some interesting discoveries... sometimes even alarming ones. In this paper we demonstrate with practical examples a fact that has really happened to us. Are we really the only ones who have stumbled upon such a case?
